![]() ![]() It was already too late! You SHOULD have uninstalled the McAfee application AND downloaded/run the McAfee removal tool AND installed Kaspersky BEFORE your McAfee subscription had expired. To do this, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK. Since the problems started on Friday 5th November I had uninstalled McAfee and installed Kaspersky instead. If Windows XP SP2 or Windows XP SP3 is not installed on the computer, uninstall the later version of Internet Explorer. McAfee Internet Security suite was installed and had recently expired.
